Travelling solo? Why a small retreat near Chiang Mai is a good idea

Guests from different countries smiling by the True Nature sign

Many of our guests arrive on their own. Most leave with new friends from three or four countries. Here is why a small retreat works so well for solo travellers.

You are never the only new person

Arrival dates are flexible, so people come and go throughout the week. There is always someone on their first day, someone on their last, and someone who has stayed a month.

Shared meals make it easy

Three meals a day are eaten together at one long table. Conversation happens naturally — no awkward icebreakers needed.

Time alone is respected

Afternoons are free. Take a hammock, a book or a walk through the rice fields. Joining activities is always optional.

A safe, simple base

True Nature is family-run and the family lives on site. The retreat is alcohol- and drug-free, and getting here from Chiang Mai is straightforward — see how to get here.

Private or shared?

Book a private room for your own space, or a shared room (women-only or mixed) if you are on a budget or like the company. See our accommodation. Travelling on to Pai? The minivan stops nearby.
