Food at True Nature
Cooked here. Eaten together. Three vegetarian meals a day.
Ning cooks every meal here: vegetarian, fresh and local, with plenty from our own garden.
Most of it is Thai — curries, stir-fries, soups and salads — with a few Western and Italian favourites thrown in. It is simple food, full of flavour, and there is always enough for seconds. We eat together around one long table in the open-air dining area.
The food at a glance
Wholesome vegetarian meals
Three meals a day. Vegan options are always available.
Thai & international flavours
Curries, stir-fries, soups, salads, fresh fruit and more.
Special diets
We are flexible and can support many dietary needs. Please tell us about yours when you book.
Eaten together
Breakfast 9:30am, lunch 1pm, dinner 7pm — all at the long table.

Make-your-own pizza night
Load a base with homemade sauce and fresh toppings, then cook it over hot coals, Thai style. The result is a thin, crispy pizza to share. We may not be the only yoga retreat in the world with a pizza night, but we would like to think we do it best.

Meet the cook
Before True Nature, Ning ran Ning's Kitchen, a vegetarian cooking school in Chiang Mai. She looks after the vegetable garden and cooks with her mum's help in the kitchen. According to our guests, she is the best chef in northern Thailand. We are not going to argue.
After a few days of eating her food, most guests sign up for Ning's cooking class.
