Two yoga shalas
Two open-air shalas with mountain views, with mats, blocks, straps and bolsters for everyone.

Shalas, gardens and shared spaces in the hills north of Chiang Mai.
True Nature sits on the mountainside in Chiang Mai, Thailand, about 45–50 minutes north of Chiang Mai city.
The land is surrounded by green hills, rice fields and banana plantations. We turned a plot of jungle into a small, family-run retreat — building a lot of it by hand — and kept as much of the nature as we could.
There are no villas and there is no pool. There are two shalas, a big dining table, a garden, hammocks, a gym, cats, dogs and chickens. That is the property.

Two open-air shalas with mountain views, with mats, blocks, straps and bolsters for everyone.

A big open dining space with greenery all around. Every meal is eaten together here.

A vegetable garden, fruit trees, free-range chickens — and Pi Nut, who keeps it all looking good.

Hammocks, quiet corners, a slackline and a small library for lazy afternoons.

An airy gym nestled among banana plants, with dumbbells, rings, a pull-up bar and a bicycle for indoor training.

Forested hills all around, with rice fields and banana plantations below.
Also on site: Wi-Fi everywhere, a designated smoking area away from shared spaces, and parking.
Step outside the property and you are already in rural Chiang Mai. Quiet walking trails weave between rice fields, small local villages and green hills, making an easy morning or afternoon wander.
There are local coffee shops nearby for a change of scene, and a 7-Eleven within walking distance for everyday essentials. Ask us when you arrive and we will point you towards our favourite routes and stops.

Over the years we have adopted quite a few cats and dogs, and there are free-range chickens in the garden. Expect visitors on your balcony and the occasional dog in the shala. If you are afraid of animals, True Nature may not be the best fit.
